UnitedHealthcare will offer supplemental and non-medical benefits through Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill (SSBCI) in 2026. These benefits—like healthy food—may make a big difference, so we thoughtfully crafted a process to verify a D-SNP member's qualifying condition and continue providing benefits in 2026. To start the verification process, help members self-indicate their qualifying chronic condition on the UnitedHealthcare mobile app or member site or by calling the Member Services number on the back of their ID card. Members who self-indicate a qualifying condition get 60 days of SSBCI benefits while verification is completed.
See which of your clients are pending verification
- Go to Book of Business and select “Filters”
- Select the drop down for “Member Status”
- Select the “SSBCI – Pending Verification” status and click “Apply Filter”
"SSBCI – Pending Verification” means either the member still needs to self-indicate to initiate the verification process, or UnitedHealthcare has the information needed and is currently managing the verification process, which can take time.
